Florida Teen Charged With Computer Hacking After Changing Teacher's Computer Background To Gay Kiss Image

A 14-year-old Florida student has been charged with a cybercrime after allegedly hacking onto his school's computer network to change the background image on a teacher's computer to a photograph of two men kissing. Eighth grader Domanik Green, who attends Paul R. Smith Middle School in Holiday, was suspended from school for 10 days and also charged with an offense against a computer system and unauthorized access, according to The Tampa Bay Times.
A number of media reports are pointing to the fact that one of the computers that Green accessed had encrypted questions for the 2014 version of a standardized test that Florida administers to students in all its public schools stored on it, but authorities say that the teen did not view or tamper with those files. Meanwhile, Green has argued that his actions were merely a prank. "I wasn't really thinking, I was just kind of really annoyed at the teacher that day," he told ABC Action News. "I took a picture off of Google and put it on his laptop and blew it up. That way, when he got on the laptop, there'd be a picture of something gross." Green's mother, Eileen Foster, acknowledged that her son did something wrong but felt that the arrest was unnecessary, and said she didn't think it should be so easy for students to access the school's computer system. The fact that Green didn't access the test files or change grades, Foster noted, "proves he doesn't deserve a felony charge" for the offense, according to WTSP-TV. Still, authorities stood their ground. "Even though some might say this is just a teenage prank, who knows what this teenager might have done," Pasco County Sheriff Chris Nocco is quoted as saying. GCHQ Asks Hackers To Crack Code In Unusual Recruitment Effort

LONDON — Can you crack the code? That's the question Britain's electronic listening agency, GCHQ,
is asking in an online campaign to find the next generation of cyber specialists. GCHQ quietly launched a cryptic website last month featuring a box of code made up of numbers and letters. There is no branding on the site, only the phrase "Can you crack it?" The agency has now revealed it is behind the campaign, and said Friday it's trying to reach individuals with "a keen interest in code breaking and ethical hacking" for careers at GCHQ. "It's to arouse interest in people who perhaps might not be caught by our normal recruitment campaigns," a GCHQ spokesman said, speaking on customary condition of anonymity. Cracking the code reveals a keyword, which when entered into a space on the website prompts the GCHQ job-recruitment website to appear. The agency is currently recruiting for cyber security specialists – at a pay grade of around 25,000 pounds ($39,000) – and hopes to recruit around 35 people over the next few months, the spokesman said. More than 50 people have successfully cracked the code so far – of which 80 percent have submitted an application, the spokesman said. GCHQ said the fast-moving pace of the digital arena and cybersecurity means it must find new ways to engage with prospective candidates, who typically have entered the agency as graduates. "With the threats to information and computer technology constantly evolving, it is essential that GCHQ allows candidates who may be self taught, but have a keen interest in code breaking and ethical hacking, to enter the recruitment route too," it said in a statement. But career hackers beware: "Anyone applying who has hacked illegally will not be eligible to continue in the recruitment process," GCHQ warned. And gaming the website isn't a guarantee for joining GCHQ's ranks. The spokesman said that while anyone who cracks the code likely has an aptitude for GCHQ's type of work, it won't catapult code-crackers ahead of other job applicants automatically. The agency said it has been using social media to get the word out and that the site has attracted about 8,000 hits. ___ Online: http://www.canyoucrackit.co.uk/ _________

Gaana.com Hacked, 10 Million Users' Details Exposed -

Gaana.com -- One of India's most popular music streaming service with more than 10 Million registered users and 7.5 Million monthly visitors -- has reportedly been hacked, exposing the site’s user information database. A Pakistani hacker, who claimed responsibility for the hack, claims that details of over 10 Million users of Gaana service including their username, email addresses, MD5-encrypted password, date of births, and other personal information has been stolen and made available in a searchable database. At the time of writing, Gaana website is currently down for maintenance without any official statement provided yet. As of now, the site displays, "Site is down due to server maintenance. We will be back shortly. Kindly bear with us till then." Details of 10 Million Users Available in a Searchable Database: The hacker, nicknamed Mak Man, posted the link to a searchable database of Gaana user details on his Facebook page, with images of the service's admin panel.
By exploiting an SQL injection vulnerability in Gaana website, Mak Man managed to gain access to the details of its 10 Million users. The hacker has also posted a screenshot of SQL exploit he used to get access to the data on Facebook. Mak Man claimed that he reported the vulnerability by providing full details of the flaw to Gaana.com before. However, the company didn’t respond to his report and ignored, which results in the breach of innocent users personal information. Flaw Reported to the Company, but Ignored: It sounds really weird that Gaana from one of India’s biggest internet companies, Times Internet Limited, is vulnerable to such attacks. And even weird when such a reputed company is ignoring vulnerabilities reported to them, putting millions of users at risk. Most of the data breaches occur because of such behaviour of the companies when hackers and bug hunters responsibly report them flaws but they ignore the issues, encouraging hackers to go public with the details of their customers.
Times Internet CEO Satyan Gajwani replied to the hacker's post on Facebook later and apologised that the company hadn't responded to the security concerns raised by Mak Man. "I don't think your intention is to expose personal information about Gaana users, but to highlight a vulnerability," Gajwani added. "Consider it highlighted, and we're 100% on it. Can I request that you take down access to the data, and delete it completely?" Gajwani then took to Twitter and said that the company is considering the issue seriously and taking steps to fix it. He also said there is no financial or sensitive information lost. He also encourages all customers to reset their passwords as soon as possible. However, simply changing passwords to your Gaana account would not solve the problem, as it will reflect in the leaked database. You are advised to better deactivate your accounts until the issue is resolved. Besides this, change your email, Facebook and Twitter passwords if you are using the same as on Gaana. UPDATE "I hereby confirm that no financial information was accessed during the hack of Gaana.com .. Database was so huge that I didn't even bother looking and no information was dumped and stored locally .. not even a single row," Mak Man said in a Facebook Post. However, even if the Hacker claims that he has not downloaded the Gaana.com database by exploiting the SQL injection vulnerability, doesn’t mean that nobody else has exploited the flaw, as the loophole in the website was open from last few months. Meanwhile, it is possible that someone may have had their hands on the vulnerability and already stolen the data in past days without the company’s knowledge.

your pc going slow? this is right place

your pc going slow? Then do the following instruction.. 1.Let your PC boot up completely before opening any applications. 2.Refresh the desktop after closing any application. This will remove any unused files from the RAM. 3.Do not setvery large file size images as your wallpaper. Do not keep a wallpaper at all if your PC is low on RAM (less than 64 MB). 4.Do not clutter your Desktop with a lot of shortcuts. Each shortcut onthe desktop uses up to 500 bytes of RAM 5.Empty the recycle bin regularly. The files are not really deleted from your hard drive until you empty the recycle bin. 6.Delete the temporary internet files regularly. 7.Defragment your hard drive once every two months this will free up a lot of space on your hard drive and rearrange the files so that your applications run faster. 8.Always make two partitions in your hard drive. Install all large Softwares (like PSP, Photoshop, 3DS Max etc) in the second partition. Windows uses all the available empty space in C drive as virtual memory when your Computer RAM is full. Keep the C Drive as empty as possible. 9.When installing new Softwares disable the option of having a tray icon. The tray icons use up available RAM, and also slow down the booting of your PC. Also disable the option of starting the application automatically when the PC boots. You can disable these options later on also from the Tools or preferences menu in your application. 10. Protect your PC from dust. Dust causes the CPU cooling fan to jam and slow down thereby gradually heating your CPU and affecting the processing speed. Use compressed air to blow out any dust from the CPU. Never use vacuum. RAM IS THE WORKING AREA (DESKTOP) OF THE CPU, KEEP IT AS EMPTY AND UNCLUTTERED AS POSSIBLE!..

How to Crash an iPhone with a Message:

iPhone users who receive the string of text characters with Messages open would not be able to go back to other conversations without crashing the app, but… ...if the string is received while the iPhone is on the lock screen, users would be unable to open the Messages app entirely , or in some cases, the text could cause the iPhone to reboot without any notice or explanation. People Exploiting Bug to bother others: Users have already started using this forbidden string for the evil purpose. After appearing first on Reddit , the weird string of text characters has been started exploiting by people, sending the text to other iPhone users to block them from seeing Messages from other recipients. The bug does not occur accidentally since the string of characters is a very specific set of Unicode characters, and many have fallen victims to this new Unicode character bug. Some Workarounds to Undo the Effect: However, there are several workarounds that can undo the damage. The effect can be undone by sending another message ( any normal text ) to the person who sent you the malicious string, canceling out the initial strand. Another option is to send the person who sent the the string a message using the share sheet by simply pressing the "share " button in other apps, or send yourself a message via Siri, or ask Siri to "send a message " to whoever sent it.
